Naming ceremony in China

09 Mar 2017 - by Intership Navigation

On 14th February 2017, the naming ceremony of the last 2 newbuilding being built at New Times Shipbuilding in Jingjiang, China was held.

MV FEDERAL RUHR was christened by Hara Theodorou Panera, wife of Intership’s CFO Nicos Paneras, while MV FEDERAL MOSEL was christened by Erma Ayiotou, wife of Intership’s Head of HSQE Michalis Pouris.

The vessels are box-shaped ‘Lakesmax’ bulk carriers with a dwat of 36,500mt and sisters to MV FEDERAL ALSTER which was delivered in 2016. All three vessels will enter a ten-year charter to Fednav. These vessels will have fuel savings of up to 10 t/d compared to Intership’s earlier series of Lakers, owing to state-of-the-art hull optimization and economic propulsion concept.

MV FEDERAL RUHR embarked on her maiden voyage on Tuesday 21st February 2017 with Capt. Janusz Stolorz and C/E Pawel Zatowka in command.
MV FEDERAL MOSEL is expected to delivered at the end of April.

We wish the Captains, C/Engineers and crew of both vessels, safe sailing and smooth seas.
