ASM FAMILY CENTRE

08 Nov 2007 - by Intership Navigation

In an ongoing attempt to invest in our crew onboard and assist their families with continuous support ASM Philippines, in cooperation with Intership Navigation, launched the ASM Family Centre in July 2007. This is a place where close family and relatives of our seafarers go to get updated of the whereabouts of the ship on which their loved ones work. In addition to this they can also send and receive letters, packages etc.

29 wives of senior management level officers participated on the premier day and first on the agenda was a seminar including the following:
• Introduction of ASM Family Centre
• Spouse Expectations Workshop
• Saving Culture, by Mr. Eugene Gonzales (Atikha & USAID Consultant on Microfinance)
• Workshop on Estate and Inheritance Planning, by Ms. Pat Yam (Philam Insurance)

All spouses and other relatives thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the presentations provided by two very good speakers, Mr. Eugene Gonzales and Ms. Pat Yam. In view of this the ASM Family Centre will soon be able to provide a welcoming kit for spouses and families of new officers and other crew joining our fleet.
Later in the day a Buffet Lunch was enjoyed together with Senior Officers and husbands that were attending the Crisis Management Seminar held by Mr. Tony Baker of North of England.

This highly appreciated family day was organised by Ms. Nel Gomez and Marsiellle Abaricio with strong support from the whole ASM Family and Intership Navigation. Well done, ladies!

Actually the next event is already planned and will take place on the 23 November 2007 and the theme will be "Raising Children as a Single Parent", a very valid subject for our seafarers wives!
For this event 75 wives and seamen have already confirmed their attendance! We promise we will keep you posted with more news from this day.
