SHIPDEX™
New technical data exchange protocol for shipping community

Limassol – Cyprus, 06 February, 2008 – Grimaldi Group (Naples) and Intership Navigation Co., Ltd announced today the release and immediate availability of Shipdex™, the new technical data exchange protocol within shipping industry.

SHIPDEX™ is an international protocol developed to standardize electronic exchange of the technical data among shipping industry. The scope of this standard protocol is to rationalize the proliferation of technical information, currently supplied in various formats and therefore not immediately usable in computerized systems. SHIPDEX™ facilitates this by providing an open XML based standard which may be implemented even in existing systems by all parties, e.g. ship owners and managers, manufacturers, shipyards and IT providers. SHIPDEX™ protocol is available to all upon registration.

SHIPDEX™ has been jointly developed by the following founding members: Alfa Laval, Grimaldi Group (Naples), Intership Navigation Company Ltd, MacGregor Group, MAN Diesel A/S, SpecTec Group Holdings and Yanmar Co., Ltd.
