The Cyprus Shipping Chamber would like to express with particular satisfaction that the Cyprus Flag has been recently removed from the United States Coast Guard (USCG) “Target List”

, and as such, another long-standing desired goal which will enhance even further the image of the Cyprus Flag, has been fulfilled.

This very positive development is the result of the joint and continuous efforts of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber and the Cyprus Maritime Administration, and in particular the Department of Merchant Shipping (DMS) towards the quality upgrade of the Cyprus Merchant fleet and the image of the Cyprus Flag.

This follows the inclusion of the Cyprus flag in the “White List” of both the Paris and Tokyo Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), on account of its low detention rates, something which classifies the Cyprus Flag as an internationally recognised quality fla
