On 27th July the Head of our Operations Department, Mr. Jayant Singh attended the XV National Maritime SAR Board Meeting in New Delhi to accept an award on behalf of the Captain and crew of MT Hafnia Asia.

The Search and Rescue award for Merchant vessels, was presented by the Indian Coast Guard in recognition of the efforts of the Captain and crew for commitment shown in saving lives at sea when, on the 18th March 2016, Capt Marcin Pietkiewicz and the crew of MT Hafnia Asia rescued 8 Indian fishermen from their sinking ship, MV Selvamatha.

The event was attended by the Union minister of Earth Sciences, the Coast Guard Director General and regional Coast Guard commandants.
