The Adopt-A-Ship programme aims to bring elementary schools and seafarers together in order to provide a real-world learning experience for the children.

Intership has been an active participant and avid supporter of the programme since its inception in Cyprus in 2006.  Now Intership has joined the programme in the Philippines too, with 4 more ships.

Elementary schools enrolled in the programme are assigned a particular vessel with which the children can communicate through email. The aim is to educate the children about life onboard, cargoes carried by ships, trading patterns, geography and other interesting facts. It is hoped that this early interaction with the shipping company and the ships will encourage the younger generation to consider a seafaring career or a career in shipping ashore.
